The 6 people who gave you a 1, 2, and 3 should be hung.

Great shot.

This has been in my favourites for ages and I keep coming back to it. It's quite an incredible snapshot of a moment in insect life, beautifully focused and so crisp. Their bodies look so tangible - I can almost feel their texture. Brilliant.
11/19/2003 08:42:05 AM
wow, this is amazing.
09/17/2003 02:03:57 AM

Great picture !!
11/18/2002 02:10:00 PM
I can't see why this woul dhave gotten anything below a 5. Thought he "subject" may not be perfect for some people, it is quite obvious that some forget all aspects of photograpy, not just the subject but the technical aspects. I think that you did an awesome job on this photo.

Congrats. I knew this one would come up in the top 3. Crazy about insect macro's, I'd be proud to have taken a shot like this.

how the heck did you get this shot? it's great.
11/17/2002 02:07:00 PM
I really like how the two fighting are the only two in perfect focus. Great shot.
11/17/2002 05:34:00 AM
I would have cropped the left side great capture
11/16/2002 09:24:00 PM

11/16/2002 11:41:00 AM
Wow! Excellent composition and colours! What a scene!!
11/15/2002 11:26:00 PM
Perfect! I wanted to take a photo of wasps as well, but was to scared to get that close to them... I like to composition and focus.
11/15/2002 05:28:00 PM
I really wish that bug on the foreground (left) wasn't there....it's ruining the entire shot...7 zadore
11/14/2002 07:58:00 PM
Yeah, baby. Great capture. Focus is a bit off, but what the heck I'll give you a 10. Jacko
11/14/2002 12:25:00 AM
great focus on subject
11/13/2002 11:22:00 PM
Too bad you couldn't have isolated just the two fighting ants
11/13/2002 06:09:00 PM
WOW; what a lucky shot! Or is it a planned setup? I'm highly interested in the story behind this shot and I'm waiting for your photo details... Good luck, nds
11/13/2002 04:55:00 PM
amazing shot. Foreground just a little distracting. 9
11/13/2002 04:51:00 PM
Title suits the picture perfectly. IMO, it also helps tell the story.
11/13/2002 03:17:00 PM
"Bugs Life" revisited! The two fighting ants are good, but the REALLY out of focus ant in front is very distracting.
11/13/2002 11:21:00 AM
all in all this is probably my favorite photo this week. i felt pretty sure a good insect macro would work well, I just couldn't get one... yours, though, is excellent-- (10) ~mcmurma
11/12/2002 09:09:00 PM
Tell me honestly these are real and you didn't set this up and I'll give you a sure 10. Right now it is a 6 . The one by itself is a lot out of focus. PTL
11/12/2002 08:42:00 PM
Wow. A super insect capture!
11/12/2002 08:29:00 PM
Well, now I know my little photo hasn't got a chance not with Gladiator here. Super.
11/12/2002 01:57:00 PM
that is an amazing shot, im blown away-the detail is exquisite-anz-9
11/12/2002 01:56:00 PM
Either you have a REALLY long lens, or you are crazy. How many times did you get stung? Incredibly scary shot.9 boyte1
11/12/2002 07:36:00 AM
Good dof in the main characters! Great shot.
11/11/2002 11:09:00 PM
right place at the right time
11/11/2002 10:04:00 PM
this would have been a 10 with more depth of field.
11/11/2002 09:58:00 PM
Excellent shot. I love the color and composition. I wish the fellow on the left had just a wee bit more focus though. Really good idea, one of my favs this week. DPz
11/11/2002 09:27:00 PM
great shot...a 10
11/11/2002 09:25:00 PM
Cool photo! Too bad the little guy to the left wasn't a bit further away so he would be more in focus. (Then again, I wouldn't be the one volunteering to herd these fellas around!)
11/11/2002 09:22:00 PM
Cool Shot!
11/11/2002 08:40:00 PM
focus please
11/11/2002 07:58:00 PM
Great color and action. They remind me of the Geonosians in Episode II
11/11/2002 07:51:00 PM
This is amazing! I would be interested to know what type of lens you used.
This is my first 10 so far and I've been thru 141.
11/11/2002 07:26:00 PM

damn, youve got a good camera. you captured great colors. 10
11/11/2002 03:10:00 PM
Cool photo. The only part that bothers me is the blurred hornet to the left. He's a little distracting, but I think that photo is a great one.
11/11/2002 02:32:00 PM
This shot is remarkable! I give it a 9, and it would have been a 10 if the foreground, especially the front left ant, had been more in focus. Bitz
11/11/2002 02:24:00 PM
Great capture. For some reason it reminds me of Gladiators. I like the foreground being out of focus, it really forces the eyes to the subject. If I had any "complaints" it might be that it was cropped too closely at the top (for me anyway). Otherwise, awesome. karmat
11/11/2002 02:09:00 PM
This is so good, what a moment caught. Nice detail and love the way the motion is conveyed.
11/11/2002 02:04:00 PM
Perfect DOF. Nice action shot! Well done.
11/11/2002 01:29:00 PM
WOW! Very dramatic! Great focus and colors! Where was this taken? kosmik 9
11/11/2002 01:05:00 PM
Yes, this is great. I love it. Interesting, good lightning, perfect focus - what else can you want? High score from me. /carsten
11/11/2002 10:37:00 AM
Excellent image..
11/11/2002 10:31:00 AM
Incredible capture!! I don't know how much res. you had to work with to crop this just so the two opponents were shown. The foreground is pretty out of focus, which is a major bummer but the bugs are great. If a few minor details could've been worked out, this would be a sure 10. Nice job anyway - Inspzil
11/11/2002 10:01:00 AM
You must be pretty brave ! The only real distraction for me is the wasp on the left being so out of focus. This is still a good close up:)
11/11/2002 09:01:00 AM
Excelent natural history image
11/11/2002 08:27:00 AM
Nice choice of subject. Too bad half your picture is out of focus!
11/11/2002 06:33:00 AM
wow!
11/11/2002 03:53:00 AM
Wow.
11/11/2002 02:47:00 AM
Dare I even ask how long you waited for a shot like this to come along?
11/11/2002 01:12:00 AM
Dude, this rocks!!
