Challenge: It's All About Position (Advanced Editing VII*)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II
Date: Jul 15, 2009
Date Uploaded: Jul 15, 2009

This is our youngest son, on a table many feet away from the foreground frame.

We're on vacation, so I have no lights. You should SEE what I did to get enough light here... *sigh*

Setup shot available, if anyone's interested.

Post Challenge: Day Two into voting dawned with a 7+ score after 100+ votes... and with a validation request. "No problem," I thought...

And then it came back, DQ'd for date.

I knew they'd made a mistake so off I went to find the file and prove to them the error of their ways.

Month - correct *check*
Day - correct *check*

Year - 2010 *WHAT?! I took this NEXT YEAR!?!*

*heavy sigh*

My regular camera's in the shop... so I'm using my back-up. Never thought to check the year... *sigh*

Totally my fault... I feel so bad about my error when my son worked so hard at this for me.

Live and learn. *sigh again*

Setup for Michelle: My son sat on the far table.

Super picture. Too bad about the DQ. Actually the same thing happened to me with this shot except mine was set for 2099.

What a great shot, to trip over something so small. Just think, next year when they do "It's all about Position II", you are ready to go. ;-) Oh, wait!!! No entering the same image in more than one challenge.... sigh...

Still a really excellent image, and a shame that a camera date killed it, after all the work. I'd have given you a 10 on this one.

My challenge fave as well. It *really* sucks when a DQ is over something so odd. Great shot!

Bummer....this one was my top pick! Awesome set-up and capture.
You and your son are still winners in my book! :)

To bad about your DQ. An excellent shot too. A similar thing happened to me except my date was 2099. Never did figure out how I did that.

I'm happy because is obvious you will win next year with this excellent image, and will be very well deserved. Many will protest, but rules are rules. Congratulations in advance, Lydia, great job !!!

A shame about the DQ on a technicality. This would have done well. I'm sure I gave it at least a 7.

Good composition. Almost wish he was wearing more similar clothes for greater effect. I like it.

I'm sort of sorry you "explained" it in the title, that wasn't necessary. Still, a cool shot.

try not to put "qualifiers" in your title, it takes away from the mystery

great shot but putting the description of how you did it in the title detracts from it IMO
