 I had a completely different idea for this challenge, but I was having difficulty getting it to work for me and I was running out of time, so this was my quick 'second' idea. I bought the SPAM and the mailbox at the store and set it up in my garage on top of a stand with a black pillow case on top. It was after dark so there was no ambient light and I had my one 'model' light pointed down from the top.

I don't often add borders since I usually have no idea what to do with them, but this time I decided to give it a go. I matched the red to the red of the mailbox flag. I am still not sure if I like the border or not.

Now - I don't know what to do with the SPAM I have. I don't eat meat - let alone SPAM. Maybe the dogs will like a treat!


POST CHALLENGE:

Goodness - 6.6126 !?! That is a PB for me!!! Very excited! And 7th place twice in a row!!! And I have never been in the top 10 before these last two! I am very happy. Thank you everyone for your votes and your wonderful comments!

This is a very nice shot. Hormel's new packaging? Nice lighting, nice use of DOF. Tying the border into the mailbox flag is a nice touch too.

Nice exposure and good lighting. I'm not a fan of the border, but that is a personal taste. Overall very nice shot!

Nice concept but somehow the lighting seems quite flat. Also, not such a big fan of the red border, although I'm ignoring that as far as the score is concerned.

I like the lighting in this shot. Good concept and meets the challenge well. Question is, what are you having for dinner with all that spam around?

I couldn't afford to buy that much spam, it was almost $4.00 a can here! A very good photo, good lighting, I like the black background.
