I had a shot for this challenge that I thought was unique. When I double checked the rules, I saw why -- it was illegal. So not being able to come up with anything unique, and still wanting to enter, I said "I give up" and went with this. I'll probably get creamed with DNMC comments and votes, but EYE don't care. ;~)

Oh, in case you are wondering, this is a female Anhinga.

I can't believe this scored below 5. I thought this was a great image, and was one of few in the challenge that I gave an 8 to.

This would be outstanding...with some real punchy sharpness. As is, it's cool, but leaves the viewer wanting more.

Needs to be a little more in focus for me, and it has been done before. Good concept though, I like where you were going with it but maybe not the right challenge to enter it in.

If this is a bird's eye, there have been a number of them before -- here's one example: . If it's not -- sorry!!

Love the framing and the lighting, but I wish the focus on the eye were sharper.

Lol - I like the title for your photo - it helps me understand where you might be coming from in terms of the challenge. As for the photo, for me, I wish it were more in focus. I like the composition though.

The idea is nice, but i would prefer more focus.

comment only, not voting.

Am thinking most voters will say 'parrot' or similar and not think its a unique, never before seen subject. I'm a sucker for negative space and generally like this type of composition. Sadly nothing is in sharp focus for me and even if this was intentional? imho it detracts from what could have been a very nice image.
