 Dried chilies called ristras are a typical sight in Albuquerque NM.
Old Town is the area settled by the first Spanish families in 1706. Today, it is great place to visit.

A familiar site, hanging chilis! Wonderful textures you've brought out here. Ya know, in my seven years here I've only been to Old Town once...I don't get out much :-) Maybe we should meet up some time!

Oh, yes. I bought a bunch once and took them home. They lasted a long time as decoration. I never had the courage to break them off and serve them.

ordinaryangel: Overlay - I had not considered that because I just finished up a month of overlays (side challenge) and did not think it would be acceptable here. I love doing them, so I am up for that! I'll do a remake!!
MelonMusketeer: the last time I was at the Fiesta was 2006 and I do believe I saw it there. I do plan on going this year!

I like the layered effect this has! I'd love if you could do something with so much of the white here though, perhaps an overlay to temper it down???

Interesting how they have hung the chilies up under the lights - I think this would make a very interesting night shot.

That's a cool shot, the way the subject IS the subject, and there is no question about it. Abq is a wonderful city to tour around in.
I wonder if they still fly the huge ristras balloon at the balloon fest?
