Wow. What a dissapointing score! I entered a somewhat similar shot a year or so ago and it scored about 6.5. On that image it was a tight shot on the rider and some people thought it would be better to show some perspective as to how high these guys really jump. So I did that, expecting to improve on the previous score... but yet several people still gave it 1's (the scrubber took a couple of them away) and others also commented that the tree and house were distracting. Just cannot win with dpc voters! To say I am frustrated is a major understatement.

Thanks to those that liked the shot, and to those that at least commented as to why they rated it lower. A big middle finger to those that rated it a 3 or less without explanation!

Ernie, the score does not go with the quality of the shot for sure. Tack sharp and obviously you had great technique (great timing, wonderful focus , excellent tracking of the action, etc....) to capture the shot. It is very unfortunate that a lot of DPC voters do not really take into account the degree of difficulty that goes into capturing the shot.

My only input would have been to crop away the house , just leaving the trees.

Nice shot! Great detail on the rider and bike. Maybe you have kept the trees and house below to convey height of the jump but I would crop that out because I find it uninteresting

Absolutely fantastic capture! The clarity and color are amazing! The house and power lines at the bottom are a bit distracting, but still a terrific shot.

The stuff at the bottom of the picture, though showing the distance to the ground, is a bit distracting. I think the picture would have been more successfull if you had cropped the biker so that it was just the sky behind him.
