 Ever since seeing Jacko's dragonfly shot I've wanted to capture their eyes so you could see the individual components of the compound eye. This shot is using the 1.4x extender on my macro lens. The dragonfly is cooled with 6 minutes in the freezer. He hung out for about 15 minutes before taking off.

it never ceases to amaze me on these bug pictures...that they have "beards" such detail and your colors are amazing
