when i saw this robberfly buzzing around i was pretty surprised .. i didnt think i'd see any more of them till spring/summer ..

thanks everyone for your votes and comments .. this scored way more than i was expecting .. he's not that attractive for a robberfly .. probably coz he's way past his use by date .. !! :)

promise he'll be the last robberfly i'll put in dpc for a long time ...!!..:)

Wow, Roz! I'm surprised it isn't on the front page or with a ribbon. I guess now that its winter over there, maybe some western hemisphere macro shooters may have a chance :) Course, the bar is set off-the-chart-high, so I reckon not. The macro awards will probably just have to wait until it is spring in Australia again.

This is awesome -- as ALL of your wonderful studies in macro photography are!

They are such incredibly strange looking creatures. I'm just grateful that they're tiny ..... and that you take these amazing photos so we can see just how incredibly strange they are. Roz, you rock!!!
