Used this overlay, that I got from a free texture site, but unfortunately, I don't have the link, as it was on a previous computer. I got the link off a DPC thread, so that shouldn't be too hard to find. ;P
I placed overlay over image, which was converted to B&W, and then added two solid colour filters, one blue, and one brown to pick up the tones in the overlay.
I played with the opacity and masks on each filter, to get the desired result.
I am also very new to using overlays. I got a taste for them in the Diptych challenge, and haven't used them since. So a big thanks to iamwoman for setting this challenge.
I took joynim's suggestion, and added a little grain.

Love the image, so fun! The overlay really adds dimension and interest. BTW, the overlay was created by Playingwithbrushes, you can get larger sizes here. |

Polaroids gone bad! LOL! Wonderfully processed! You certainly don't look like a newbie at this! |

Very nice affect Barbara, I think this could also work very well with a more downbeat main image |

Oh, this is AWESOME! I copied your overlay, but I'm sure its a small version. I'll try to find the larger size later, but it looks REALLY cool. Its perfect for that photo. You sure don't look like an overlay newbie :) I look forward to seeing more over the month.

So fun. I really like what the result is. She left it in her photo album and it got rained on. hee hee
I'm amazed at how a layer can instantly tranform an image. |

Like the application of the blue and brown filters IMHO it needs some grain to ground the image to the overlays. Thanks for the link ;) |
