My first hard drive shot... It's a pretty typical one that I've been wanting to try one for a long time. This challenge gave me an excuse.

this is a definite favourtie of this challenge - the lighting (in it's multipleness) is beautiful, as are the colours and the angle of the shot is pitch perfect. your choice of subject is different and original, and for making something seemingly ugly and boring into the visoinary wonder i see before me is inspiring. my only reservation is that i wish it was a little bit sharper in the foreground, but that aside, i am well impressed. 9.

Great lighting. Wish the drive were a little sharper in the center area, but not bad at all. Good job! :o)

Great idea! In my opinion there are some things that could be improved to really help this photo stand out. For one, I think the soft focus and small DOF hurts this shot. The drive has nice, sharp, clean lines that would look great in perfect focus There are two main points of interest in this shot that are spread out on opposite sides of the shot and are competing for my attention. I think this shot could also be improved by either zooming in more on the arm or the spindle (whichever one you want to focus on) or zooming out and including both in focus as a single subject in the image with the platters serving as the background. That is all just my opinion, though! :)

good lighting, unfortunately the focus is only on the right side of the photo...

You need better focus or depth of field.

nice use of coloured lights!! Pity the left site of the photo is out of focus..a bit more of DOF would have made this a great shot!!
