such a bad storm last night that even after pulling out all the plugs for the computer and phones we lost one phone line .. the lightning was like looking into the sun and the thunder just about made me deaf ..
i took this shot of katee today, from inside the house looking out .. the sky was a bit blown out so i thought i'd use another one of my cloud shots to fill it up a bit .. got a bit carried away!!

critical comments welcomed

thanx marion .. katee was lying on one of those outside chair thingos and i think the handle you mean are the legs of the chair ..:)

Reading through the past comments, I like all of the darkness and closing in feeling. I think it's a great feeling for this image.

My only problem with this is IMHO there's a little too much dark area around the image causing it to get a little lost in the middle. That dark area is really lost space as it doesn't contain any detail of any significance to the interesting effects going on in the center. Maybe crop it or substitute some unique framing instead?

i love katee, toning, and tunnel like effect created by the vignette which adds a unique perspective. unfortunately that is where it ends. i perceive no connection to the foreground and background elements. the foreground and it's grid has some visual appeal but, the background to me is cluttered and incongruent. since i am not one to even know how you did this, my suggestions may not be that constructive but, as an image i would have liked to have seen the foreground duplicated in the background and clone out the legs of that thingo. this might have simplified it and created a more floating effect for katee. you are an amazing photographer and i know that if you have a ratio of 1 of 10 great images your doing the job right. this just to me happens to be one of the 9.

I love the tones and the feelings portrayed, you've almost critiqued it yourself, I think you have may gone a bit far with the clouds above Katee, i'd like to see some detail in there similar to that seen in the bottom rhs.

I love the topsy-turvy feel to this creation, Roz! Looks like a glass floor with clouds below, and the negative trees add to the other-wordly feel. The heavy vignette makes me feel like I am peeking into Katee's private little world :-)

This put me in mind of a puddle reflection. Definitely an after-the-storm feeling. And then I read your comments! Waugh! I will unplug my electronics, too. Better to be safe than to have to go on an emergency shopping trip. "D Katee is an icon of DPC, for sure!

Ah, that Katee, she has the life, hasn't she? I might be missing the significance of that handle thingy, but imho it interferes with the image a little bit.

tee hee, I think she's on cloud 10. LOVE the vignette. This is awesome, roz. I just love your creativity. katee is lucky to have you as her mom or is that vice versa. LOL

It must be nice to be able to just lay down and take a nap. I like the effect of Katee almost floating as she sleeps.

LOL @ your comments! This almost looks like you're looking at a dream sequence or something. That certain tunnel vision you sometimes get when you're awakened abruptly from a dream.
