This is a fake bonsai, but I think it looks pretty nice for a fake plant.

Hopefully this will be a different type of entry in this challenge.. Might tank, but we'll see.

Long exposure, painting with light shot with a white LED light inside a clear plastic mug filled with water and baking soda to even out the light. The mug was then put inside a shirt to diffuse it a bit, and add some nicer definition to the light trails. Don't ask me how I come up with this stuff. :)

Editting included level adjustments, colour balance, sharpening, all done in Lightroom. Final sharpen and resize done in the GIMP.

Lovely, very nicely done. Beautiful bonsai, well-composed, and the wisp of smoke is a great touch.

I like this if only because of the inspired use of light for effect. The background helps, but is not overly imposing on the image.

one of the bests in the show! would have liked just a bit more light on the tree but still that doesnt stop me from awarding 10

Nice idea. Only nitpick is that the bonsai specimen is not popping. I think perhaps a few changes - minor ones - with the composition might help. I like the blue background.

I like your photo...I am wondering if it could be better by cropping out the pot from the bottom...? Just a thought.
