The steps could have many meanings: "stepped" habit breaking programs; the person ascending and descending these steps day after day to their location; the steps repeating and repeating, an inanimate "habit". I don't have much interest in photographs that are merely literal interpretations of the challenge. Although they may be pleasing from an aesthetic standpoint, many of these photos don't ask the viewer any questions, are not open to interpretation and do not challenge the viewer. That is why I try to take a broader, more interpretive approach to the challenges, although this is often at the peril of low marks from people who don't get it at first glance. I'm not sure I suceed or come close to sucess with these pics, however, that is at least my goal --- to do something more than a literal interpreation of the challenge.

From seeing all the comments asking what that had to do with a habit you might want to respond in this fourm so they all "get it"

Awesome perspective...to me viewing this picture could become habit forming. Would write more but I just don't have time.

I very much like the wit... a little right and it would have been a twelve step program...or was that the idea??

I thought I commented on this photo but those notes must not have "taken" - so here goes again:

I really like the colors here, the isolation of the red is really fun. The composition of the lines in the triangle forms and then steps all leading our eye through the frame is really well done - I like the DOF and the textures you captured.

Good composition.

I like the point of view and contrasting textures. The foreground blurring (right front) is distracting to me.

Nice colors, composition and idea. The OOF pillar at the right front a bit troublesome.

taking out the color has taken the life out of this

I really like the angle of this shot and the slight colorization of some of the bricks. I am very loose on "meeting the challenge", but even for me, a bit of a stretch thinking of inanimate objects having habits. Too bad -- I think it would have been an awesome pick for the "unusual viewpoint" challenge.
