Loving the shadows on this. |

Dark face in shadow - looks sooty. |

Without the title, I wouild have thought he was a jockey :) |

I long for more details in the shadows. And for his chin.
Not voting yet. |

I really, really like this shot, even though I can find a lot of technicals that could be considered "wrong." It really seems to tell a story. |

I really like this picture, the darkness, the anonymity of it, the unconventional nature of it. |

Well captured and presented. |

I can see what you are trying to achieve, unfortunately , I think your post processing did not come out quite right. Need to see a little more details of the person's face. The yellow tones left in the image seems a little out of place, you need to experiment with the hue adjustments more (try not to adjust hue with a high/mid saturation setting, try a low saturation level then slowly work from there), 5 |

Not sure I like the color tone of this image but this is a good capture and a decent candid portrait. |

I wish his face were more visible, I think it would make the photo stronger. |

Interesting portrait. Nice processing. Don't like the yellow cast though. Just plain black and white would have been better. |

oh oh cheddar cheese girl...
I wouldnt mind its dark if it was of better quality and I wouldnt mind the quality if it was brighter...
yet its quite tight... I lack the space at the bottom... |

Real life and real emotion. What a great way for him to be portrayed. Nicely done. |

the off-center subject works well - nice contrast - I like the serious darkness of the face... |

I really like the textures on this. Wish the crop wasn't so tight on his chin |

Fantastic shot. The processing is what makes this image so nice. Good job. |

Good shot. Maybe a little lighting on the face would've helped raise the score for me. |
|
|
03/14/2009 02:12:29 PM |
for me the contrast is a little over done, jmo |

I'd tone down the highlights a bit. Some of them are pretty hot, especially on the helmet where they blend in with the background. Might also want to dodge the face a small amount. |

I very much like that his face is almost but not quite hidden. |

Great tones. Very strong image made more so by the near anonymity of the man's face. 7. |

you already know this shot is great :-P lighting good, detail good, composition good, everything good. I wonder if the man's a bit too dark, though... |

The lighting and processing takes this image to a whole new level.. |

This man is earning his money. |
|
|
03/11/2009 07:36:02 PM |
Another angle will do better, his face has a lot of details and u should go much closer to this |
|
|
03/11/2009 06:08:54 PM |
Nice idea. A little too dark in the face and too blown out behind. |
|
|
03/11/2009 06:01:44 PM |
cool environmental portrait |
|
|
03/11/2009 03:07:32 PM |
an interesting shot...without the title I would say to dark not focused enough but with it...hmmm commands respect |
|
|
03/11/2009 02:46:52 PM |
would have been nice to see more of him. as it is the crop is too tight, and the picture looses it's power. |
|
|
03/11/2009 01:26:31 PM |
the texture in his face is great ... |

I'd love to see more detail on his face. |
|
|
03/11/2009 08:06:20 AM |
Some more light (levels or fill light) on the face would have made it much stronger. |
|
|
03/11/2009 02:45:09 AM |
nice, light would have be cool if turned on |
