Good depth of field. I like the editing.

Kinda surreal effect through the processing. HDR tonemapped? Not unpleasant though. There seems to be a bit of a halo just above his shoulder on the left and the background bokeh looks a bit harsh.

Nice DOF, the composition is a little dull, I'd say try cropping so that he's not right in the middle, lighting looks great.

He looks like he is tired of having his picture taken. I am sure that I do the same to my loved ones :P

He doesn't look real thrilled about having his picture taken. :P

Awesome shot. Great capture. Love the expression - there is so much being communicated in it.

the processing/sharpening halo detracts imo

A good portrait but would like to have seen a bit more texture.
03/15/2009 12:01:20 PM
Good colours.

I'm sure some are complaining about the processing...

I wish there were some catchlights in his eyes.
Handsome boy. Nicely composed.

I dont like the format of the file (maybe square would be better or if it was portrait format)...
post processing is nice yet a bit unsharp

I don't think this level of post processing ever works.

Neat capture with an interesting pose, but the haloing you created around Eric with your post-processing is distracting from the overall quality of the image.

I wish his eyes were easier to read or a little closer up and cropped more because I think if you could get the real feel of what his eyes are expressin this could be awesome

I like all of the processing except the eyes. They are just a little bit too strong. It's well better than average though

Handsome young man. Maybe a tighter crop but over all a good capture.

Nice looking boy. I like his direct gaze, and the soft bg. I'd be inclined to crop this to portrait orientation.

It seems like the eyes have been retouched a bit heavily (apologies if I'm wrong). Nice colors and a natural expression on the subject. Maybe a little "soft", though it gives it a painterly feel.

This is a nice portrait, but i'm not a fan of the PP, it's too much in my opinion and it left a little white glow around Eric. I'm sorry if i was rude, good luck!

Great expression, nice use of shallow DoF. I think you could add interest if the face were off center and maybe a little closer. Nice shot.

The background is a little too dark for my taste.

This is a great shot! I know some don't like centered subjects, but sometimes it works and here I think it does.

I like the editing. He is a really cute boy. Good lighting and colors.

Almost 3D-ish - good color saturation. Not sure about the center of the subject and square shoulders - I think this would be less "static" if there was a better pose.

It looks too Photoshopped for my taste, it lacks details in dark areas. Nice portrait though with good bokeh. 6

A little overprocessed in my opinion e.g. There is haloing artifacts around the subject.

Decent portrait. Not sure if I agree with the post processing on this.
