Interesting contrast. Not sure I like the dark spots on the wings - can you bleach the bird next time before taking the shot? ;-p The background looks like water with the bottom still visible.

interesting capture, image needs to have more impact to really score well. Capturing the full spread of the wings is nice but the overall position of the bird is not too good.

It had been a long day on the job and Frank leaped into the air, flapping with all his might. It was time to head home to Mary and the kids. Even after all these years at his job, he still got some odd looks from people who were not used to seeing a bird working as an auto mechanic.

Or is it descent? There's a primal ambiguity here. The richness of the ground is nearly hypnotic, strangely enough. Excellent image.
