Post-Challenge: Wow, 60 comments. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote, and to provide critique.
As for questions/suggestions:
- yes, the railroad was a 100% desat + increased contrast. My intent was to
emphasize the color in the trees and perhaps contrast "industry vs.
nature". Most of the commenters seemed to pick up on this, and IMO it
has much more impact than the original.
- JPEG artifacts: b/c of the complexity of the image (gravel, leaves) it didn't
compress well, and I had to lower the quality to meet the 200K file size
limit. The original looks much better.
- Leading lines: My intent was symmetry in the image. Having them lead to
a steam locomotive would have been better, but, wasn't available.
- I was on a railroad overpass looking down on the tracks.

| I love this with the rich autumn colors. Makes me want to hop a train and see the sights. Especially nice with the tracks working almost like a leading line all the way through the photo. |

| Sorry, doesn't do anything for me. Technically very good (focus etc) subject just does not have any impact in my eyes. Just being honest. |
