I bought a large package of light grey card stock and made the majority of the pieces for this to shoot for the Shades of Grey Challenge. I entered another image. I could not get a design pattern that I liked and put them away. Then the maze idea hit me. I tried something else for the maze idea and ended up throwing it out. The main problem with the concept for me was how to stablize the card stock. I eventually used small pieces of stock stick glued to either side of two large pieces of stock and then stick puttied at the bottom to the surface of the light box. I had to make two dozen more pieces of the surronding pattern to fill the top of the light box so there are about 5 dozen or so in the set up....though less in the image due to camera crop.

Shot with the camera on tripod and cable remote release. Ambient light from the light box and light from a small flashlight waved over the set up during the 4 second exposure were used. This left the front and the tips of the card stock blue.

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Spot edit dust and some small distractions on the card stock and the ball. No crop. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

One of the better pictures in this challenge, but the lime green ball is a distraction. 8

I'm not even sure what I am looking at, but the colors are very nice. I like how they're fairly symmetrical around the midpoint of the shot.

This is fun to look at, but I think it would be nice if it were slightly higher key. I like that you chose to add a visual focus with the ball.

Very nice structure/design. I love the contrast of the foreground against the highlight at the centre, and then the dark background. It's really beautiful.

Cool shot with lots of lines and a round ball. Excellent combination.

Wonderful idea but there should have been more lighting on the ball, or made it "pop" more, maybe with a different color. Even knowing it's there, I don't really see it because of the strong lines and the lighting of the maze.
