How fun that the ant is in the frame too - the texture and detail on the feather and the surface of the rock is nice. The blade of dead grass across the top of the frame distracts from the overall lines of the composition.

I think you've got a great idea but need to rework it to make it effective. I want to see a macro shot of that ant too!

Good idea, I wonder what it would look like w/ the feathers more sharply focused to better show the softness.

A very hard concept to deliver in a photo. The left hand side of the left hand rock is in too soft focus to illustrate hard, and the sharp focus on parts of the feather do not convey soft. In fact, it is the downy feathers, not the wing feathers which are soft enough for pillows. The horizontal piece of grass hurts the composition in my estimation, and the wasp steals the eye.

A 3.

Nothing really seems to pop here. Maybe up the levels or saturation a little. 5

A great idea for this challenge! The ant brings a bit of "life" to the subjects. Perhaps that one horizontal blade of grass could have been moved as it seems to disrupt an otherwise nice composition. I like your choice of depth of field--the rock seems to fade away at just the right point and the texture in both the feathers and rock are clear. Overall, a fine picture.

The grass stems make it too busy for my eye. Nice interpretation though.
