This was posted in my portfolio and got 2 or 3 comments but was hidden. This perhaps wasn't my best or fave from 08(which was a rather slower photography year for me) but this made my top5. I didn't expect to make the top20 but I did want to beat my overall avg.
As for the bird. I was standing there in awe of what nature had in front of me and was hoping a bird would fly in for more impact and it did! So I did wait for it to get right into that perfect spot and thankfully it did. I had my cam set to bracketing because I knew I had to apply some hdr/tonemap to try and capture the dynamic range in this scene. Validation was asked for this shot in the beginning of the challenge , I understand some folks thought I pasted the bird in ;)
Thanks again!

I gave this an 8 and remember looking at the bird and assuming you either got lucky and/or was patient enough for one to 'enter stage', on reading your notes seems I was right. Why someone would think you pasted it in is shallow. Really nit-picking, main thing that held it back for me was the capture of the feel of the water - 'if only' more detail and texture... but very difficult.
This is an amazing image Techo and I'm glad to see it was appreciated enough by others to help you keep up that impossibly high average score you have :-) Well done!
I'm so glad to see you here entering, Techo. This is beautiful. That remote control bird really makes the scene perfect! (just kidding about the remote, of course, folks)
WOW, very good cloud. I liker the bird, the rays. I personally think the black part in bottom is taking points away from the excellent image otherwise.
Interesting scene with many subtle elements. I am not sure about the light streaming towards the bird as it looks fake to be honest. The bird is a helpful element in this scene so I am not sure how you could draw attention to it cleanly.
I cant say enough about this shot. Sky is just superb, bridge looks familiar and to capture the bird in the path of the sun beam is one in a million. Well composed image.
