i created this for the expert side challenge with the subject for this month being escape .. .. but because there doesnt seem to be much interest i'm putting it in the archive side challenge .. some of the photographs i used were from over a year ago. like the aerial view from the plane and the dolphins ..
the pelicans and a lot of the gulls were from december 2008, but with the amount of photographs i take, they have now become archival .. lol ..
i wanted to use a world globe, photograph it, and have something with a science fiction feel along the lines of escaping the world or wotever ..
i bought a globe on the net but days went by and it didnt arrive so i decided to create something globish from my pics, which i did from the aerial view & put the factory in it ..
i'm not sure if i've been successful in getting across the feeling of escaping and i'm not totally happy with the result ..
this is a print screen of all the photographs i used .. the image in the print screen is slightly different .. i've un-desaturated the rhs coz ppl thought it was a mistake .. it wasnt but wotever .. :)

I'm enjoying the image for its fantasy - sci fi "feel" and I'm flabbergasted at the thought of the work that went into it. Very impressive.

So what did you use to create the globe and reflections? It's an excellent job of compositing, and I think it fits the theme of "escape" well enough.

Brilliant Rozy... Love the way the water is flooding out of the frame and all the little additions to a lovely Port Stephen's scene. The work you have done creating your own dirty, grungy and polluted globe is just extraordinary. No wonder all of these magnificent creatures are trying to escape. If this had been in a challenge it would have earned a 1 from me. Woops! 10 I mean...lol xox

I need a thesaurus to come up with some suitable superlatives. This is just phenomenal. There is such an air of fantasy, and the technique is just brilliant.

Fan-freakin'-tastic, Roz. I truly envy your imagination - you really do have a wonderful inner eye which you pair up nicely with that outer eye that sees through a viewfinder. This really suits the theme of "escape" well - not only are the critters all heading out, but the world as we know it has been bubblified and is being escorted out to sea as well. Outstanding work!
