Challenge: Life III (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Lensbaby Composer
Date: Jan 11, 2009
Aperture: F/2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Jan 11, 2009

This is my first Lensbaby entry. I really hesitated entering this shot. I really LOVE this shot and I don't know if I'm up for all the OOF comments and the low scores they will bring. I suspect this shot will be right around my average. (5.5788)

--------------------------------------

I'm thrilled with the score and the fact I received it using my new Lensbaby Composer. This is currently the highest scoring shot using this lens. Of course there are only five shots, but who's counting.

The hood was on because we were in the garage and it was cold. I was shooting another shot and my son came out for a few seconds to kiss me goodnight.

I will tell you that I wish the background was different. I love these unscripted moments and the background made me think of a portrait session. This sounds harsher than I intend it to because I love the interaction that you captured. Love from the man and joy of the child - beautiful!

You wanna be gangsta.

Congrats on the shot... too bad we both got our butts handed to us in the head to head.

Thanks for all the comments! The hoodie has been destroyed. :)

Interesting processing and the child came out great. The hooded face gives it a darkness I am not sure was intended...

Looks like what I do with my 3 year old grandson. Makes him cackle hysterically. My 18 and 21 year old daughters don't care for it much anymore, however.

This has a rather sinister overtone to it, but the child's reaction dispells that a bit.

Those 'Hoodies' always remind me of people who are or think they are gangsters. Anyway, the photo is very good, I like the blurred effect and drab colors: 10

This is a good creative idea, I think the blur detracts away from the shot though.

Masterful use of lighting and dof. Really captured the "meat" of the shot, and gave it great dynamics and emotion. One of my faves.
