this is a Long legged fly (Family Dolichopodidae) .. he was very very small, probably a bit more than 1/8" or 3mm body length ..

used Canon Speedlight 580EXII with added plastic diffuser fitted over it - a Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce ..
also Canon Extension Tube EF12II ..

7 - Amazing detail and capture. I am a big fan of strong saturation and color tweaking, but the colors on this seem unnatural.. yet not 'distorted', if that makes any sense. The textural 'depth', or rather 'feel', seems lost - hard to explain.. could be neat image, don't know - having said that, could be intentional (including the coloring), if so, my apologies. 'If only' the fore legs and wing(s) in focus too and not 'chopped', but that is really nit picking - I know how difficult these shots are (and have not taken anything even close to this) - including trying to process them. Well done.
