I built a fire in the backyard and froze a whole lot of icecubes together in interesting patterns. I held the icecubes up in front of the flames on wire. Had to be quick, they didn't last long. I spent the afternoon running between the freezer and the fire.

It was a novel experience for me to have my fingers being burnt and frozen at the same time.

Editing: levels & cropping.

You're right. Good one Chilly - I wasn't able to get my ice to do that. Second is still good for me :)

You might want to look again :) I did like yours better than mine though, good job.

Really lovely abstraction of the idea of fire and ice. The highlights in the foreground are great as is the off centered composition.

Wonderful abstract! There were many, many fire and ice entries as you know - but this one stands tall amoung them. Great colors and a fun image to explore.

This is one of the few ice images lit well enough to bring out the interest in the ice. glad you were able to take advantage of it.

My favorite of the fire and ices. Looks more like crystal or a bottle than ice, though. 7.

This entry was by far my favorite of the Fire & Ice pictures. Great colors, composition, DOF, and ice selection.

One of the few F&I shots I really like...and it includes neither element, per say, in the shot! Good job.

This is the best Fie & Ice that I have seen so far. Excellent Shot!

I really like how the ice has a more 'permanent' look to it by filling the frame and being so in focus, while the flames have the 'opposite' effect looking almost ethereal almost calling out "touch me if you dare..."
