This is my granddaughter Alana waving a sparkler after the fireworks show at Docklands, Melbourne, early on New Year's Day. As you can see it was a pretty mild night. The sparklers might figure as warm. The exif info wont agree with the time and date as these settings got mucked up by a fiddler and reset incorrectly. ( Consequently I can't enter any fireworks shots in that challenge, but we're all friends here, right?) The camera was hand held at 1 sec. with flash synchro.
I used Picasa to deal with red eye, then processed in photoshop as I usually do. usm, brightness/contrast,some blurring and cloning in the bg. to tone down the streaky bits, black border with layer style glowing edges, resize, stw. |

| She made a nice frame for her face in this shot. I like that you took out the distractions in the BG on this shot too. You got the exposure just right for the sparkler to show up looking good. |

| This is really cool, I love the way the lights in the background are wavy and blurry but she is really sharp ... and the sparkler is just awesome |

Awwww. . .what a bummer that you can't use your fireworks photo in the challenge :( This is so cute. I feel better knowing that Texas in December isn't the only place that isn't all snowy white and looking like a Hallmark Christmas card :) Alana looks like she is having a blast, and is making memories that will last a lifetime.
