This is extremely last minute. I know some people will hate the border and the film grain, but I want to keep my update button for the next week - I feel lost without it :)

[Dec. 23rd, 2008 06:02:18 PM]

Just to clarify, I added the film grain intentionally because I wanted to give the image an old B & W film feel. That was the purpose of the border too, but as keegbowsuggested, I'm now not sure it adds anything.

This was always going to polarize the voters, so I look forward to seeing the vote spread.

She walked!!! Now she's tottering around everywhere, hurting herself left, right and centre. I think that at this early walking stage we should wrap them up in cotton wool to protect them from everything.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

Don't turn around, when you look back she'll be asking for the car keys.

You'll regret that when she does. ;-) Love the bw, the concept, the DoF. Great job.

Touching and simple, the caption says it all. The composition is dynamic, the lighting is good. The subject is just out of focus which lends itself to the fact she "isn't quite walking".

Once she walks, you'll be wishing she was crawling again! LOL!

seems like this should be in sharper focus...a little to grainy...and remember for the next several years you will be telling her to sit down and stop wiggling...enjoy....

This is going to be on the front page, if not ribbon. Wondrous subject, excellent textures (tootsies, binky, quilty). Awesome in BW. If I were to be picky at all, I'd say that the light is just a teensie bit too even. Since this is advanced editing, I might have separated the feet from the blanket a bit more.

this is a great image and you have hit the challenge right on the head but I just can't see how this style of border adds anything positive to the image as a whole.

Looks a little grainy on my screen, but I love the focus, the composition - everything! Very nice work!
