 This is my first HDR image,I hope it goes over well. The weather wasn't really ideal, it was 25 degrees and had to shoot in between the cloud breaks. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
I used 3 images processed in Photomatix Pro, exposure blending mode. Then went to Photoshop and adjusted contrast, color, curves, smart sharpen, crop and save for web.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: I tend to agree with Derek here. The saturation, contrast, and the softness of the clouds make my eye immediately disagree with what its seeing. Unfortunately, that is one of the losses of HDR.

Lighting: I like the color layer you have at the bottom of the frame. I'd really like to see this one processed without the HDR.

Composition/Content: Nicely composed, and a perfectly straight horizon. Very nice.

My Opinion: I think that this entry was scored and placed appropriately.

The saturation of the colors, combined with the contrast, give this a bit of a fake appearance, imho.

Oooh, great pic! Great texture in the clouds and the lighting on the back side of them is really cool. I also like that we can see the rays extending out from the sun and the path of light across the water from the sun to the camera, it's like we're being welcomed to the horizon.
