I can't believe this didn't do better than it did. Regardless, this is a very good photo.

Excellent Shot! I like the crispness and the detail. This is one of my top 3 for this challenge. I don't have any great comments on how to improve it, but I would be curious to see what the result of moving the light source more overhead of the subject than behind it would be. Maybe it will help define the lower right part of the handle a little better and increase the contrast between the entire front edge of the wrench and the beans.

OK adding the coffee beans was a great touch, gave it some wonderful texture. The composition and the angle of the tool are very nice. I don't see much rust in the photo though?

Nice texture in the shot with the coffee beans and the old pipe wrench is a great touch. More rust would have bumped this shot up,( in score) from me .
Almost...
Good Luck in the challenge

Finally -- I voted on half of the photos, and I get to the Neil Young fan... I figured every other picture would have this title. Interesting concept, nicely executed. I'm not sure the heavy black border benefits the image.

NIce idea. NIce picture. Starbucks ought to roast beans so beautifully instead of burning them.

Simple yet effective. Great colors and texture. While a black border is probably appropriate for this image - it's way too big for me.

I like this old tool, I like the coffee beans, I like the heavy frame here.
I wish it was in better focus. The lighting seems a bit harsh.
Mix all that in a pot and I give this a 7. Good work.

A bit clever for me. Kind of annoying. Nice detail and color in the image.

To be honest, the rust is not very prominent. Seems like there is a slight patch in one place on the tool. Good humor.

Two of my favorite things, tools and coffee. A little sharper focus on the metal and a smaller border would have gotten an extra point, but I like this. 7

So maybe I'm biased because I'm a tool freak, but I really am impressed that you thought of (what seems to be) coffee beans as a background. They create a perfect contrast! This kind of image is exactly why I joined DPC - thank you!
