 I have a confession to make.

I did, indeed, take this while driving.

The camera's settings were pretty much already set because of a stop I'd made just a few moments before this, but when I saw this viewpoint open up in front of me, I knew I had to grab it.

Thankfully, because of the vertical grip on the K10D, I was able to just lift the camera up, and fire a burst.

This was the nicest of the burst.


As for some of the comments about the vehicles? In my mind, they are INTEGRAL to the shot. Goes to show eh? I think they add an element of tension that is really quite fascinating.

Driving down the road toward an endless sea of trees. The photog spots a vast mountain range just beyond the forest and sets his sights high as he clicks his shutter, when all of a sudden the traffic ahead brakes. Ouch! That damn eye piece hurts when it embeds itself in the eye.

hi edward, just tried to send you a PM to thank you for your lovely comment on my free study, but it doesn't seem t want to come up, so i'll comment on this instead! sorry mine's not as lyrical as yours...

i really like the blue cast to this; makes the warm snow light so much more prominent. lovely indeed. the complete lack of atmospheric perspective really emphasises that crisp mountain air, and the repetition of the leading lines works very well. nice work.

Cool photo, the lighting from the sun adds a lot of texture to the mountains in the back ground.

I didn't like this the first time I clicked through.. .but it's growing on me now. I like those brakes lights very much.. .spots of red in the blue/green image. (not voting yet)

the layers of textures in the trees and mountains and the road leading us in is very cool - i am just not sure about the greenish tint to the image
