this lizard seemed to be trying to dig into the dirt around the foundations of our house .. of course i raced in to get my camera ..
they have a blue tongue and i waited and waited for him to stick it out which they do quite a lot .. the buggar only stuck it out a couple of times when he was sort'v hidden behind some grass so it wasnt a great shot ..

Oh, hello! He looks as though he didn't want his picture taken. It's still a great shot, tongue or no tongue!

He could be rather intimidating looking, I believe.

Eww, I would NOT want to run into that thing! I would like to see that blue tongue though!

I find him rather attractive, in a reptilian type of way, lol! Focus is spot on those fabulous eyes (there's even a touch of catch lights in them). I'm jealous that you have this kind of wildlife. I have to go to the zoo for my fix.

"Their teeth are large and they have strong jaw muscles..." and "A bite from an adult blue-tongue can cause pain, break the skin and leave a bruise..."

Looks like you are kind of close!

Nice find Rozy - he'll get rid of some of the bugs - will have to keep my eye out for him

Lovely capture even if he didn't co-operate!
