found this very difficult even though I have got myself a new camera, didnt quite get the effect i wanted, but gave it a go

If you didn't tell me this was a clam I don't think I would have figured it out. Maybe too bright and a bit out of focus? good luck:)

IMHO it is not recommendable to present an image out of focus. When having such an obvious basic problem, you can only expect comments on that, and we miss the rest of your content.

shot isn't clear enough to tell what the subject is (aside from the title). The table detracts from the shot. 3 wingy

interesting use of light, but the image doesn't 'speak' to me. If you had not mentioned 'clam' in the title, I would have no clue :) - setzler

focusing is out.. I'll give you a tip on using torchlight to photograph a subject.. Switch the main light on, FOCUS with the big light on, hold your position, switch the light off then take your photo.. camera focus MUCH better if you give them lots of light..
