My daughter in "princess mode" with a wad of Monopoly money.

Shot was taken with tripod, external flash (Olympus FL-36R) bounced off ceiling, and an exposure bias of -1eV. It's also my first use of a simple home-made backdrop which I ought to write up sometime...

Post-processing was done in GIMP and consisted of: colour balance (mainly adding a little red), value curve tweak to boost midtone contrast, rescale to 640x480 and USM (3px radius and 0.45 with threshold zero).

Lighting is harsh, the background is dark and you have a shadow behind her.

Moving subject away from backdrop or adjusting light will do away with shadows on left.

Lighting's pretty harsh but the kid is cute.

I would like this better if the shadow wasn't behind her, perhaps I would move the backrop further away from her body or use a fill light to get it out?
