 "Poets talk about "spots of time," but it is really fishermen who experience eternity compressed into a moment. No one can tell what a spot of time is until suddenly the whole world is a fish and the fish is gone. I shall remember that son of a bitch forever." Norman MacLean

I took this photo while sitting alongside the Puntledge River on a fallen cedar. The banks were dotted with fishermen, fishing lines crossed and tangled, Chum Salmon determined to ensure their continuity. This is one fish that will be remembered. Enjoy.

ROFL @ the people who thought that was his eye!! I guess too many people don't fish with flies/lures. Nice capture of a nice catch!

I gave this a 6 and remember studying it for a while - including 'because of' your title. An excellent capture, that I had as an '8' at first, then I started nit-picking it ...

Of course I didn't have the benefit of your notes then, which now reading gives another facet to this image. Good quote too.

It was Jake's first time fishing, and when he hooked a monster fish, he didn't know just how much of a monster it really was, and when that red-eyed demon took his leg off at the knee, well...

That was a fish story to end all fish stories.

Is the fish biting back? The bright red (presumed blood) on the eye looks almost out of place with the muted colors in the rest of the scene.
