 The necklace is a Wal-Mart special of $4.97. I know it looks a bit inexpensive but I really don't have anything fancy. I was really at a lost as to what to shoot this week and probably would have not entered anything if it wasn't for the DPCO. The model is my neighbor.....she has a very long and elegant neck. She is actually holding her three week old baby in this image, just out of frame.

I found out that a Baroda Pearl Necklace is the most expensive type of pearl necklace at $7,000,000. They are natural pearls found in the ocean. The majority of pearls now are cultured pearls, which are ocean harvested on farms, and the most expensive of those types are the ones from the South Seas.

Not expecting much from this shot. Hoping for above a 6.o.

It really is beyond me how anyone thought this deserved a '1' maybe they thought they were nominating the position you should finish in :- )

I work in the jewelry biz, and I do pro photography for jewelers and jewelry makers. My compliments that is a shot right up there with the magazine ads. It mimics a very contrasty look used by the Diamond Promotion Service, that's the DeBeers marketing wing.
