Rock paused. For years he'd been making the trek across this vast and endless landscape. For years he'd encountered nothing, no-one. Luckily, he did not need food nor water to survive, but his mind was slowly going mad.
Now, suddenly, there was a person here! Perhaps they would talk to him, perhaps they would help him across this vastness, perhaps they...
... would do nothing. They lifted some strange instrument and Rock heard a click. Then, as fast as they had appeared, they were gone. Rock screamed an internal yet deafening scream as the desert returned to the empty force that it had been for so long, and Rock resumed his endless quest, his cracked mind gaining one more fissure. |
