I have really wanted to try an IreneM style shot so I finally tried it. Throught the crazy experience and lots of cleanup I got this one shot out of one hundred. They aren't easy folks... I have a new respect for her now as it took me hours to get it right...
I broke the glass almost a month ago and new I wanted to use it in a challenge but nothing came up so I decided to enter my first free study. I have no idea how this will do. I imagine well but free studies are wild so we will see!

SET UP
The falling over glass is held up with fishing line by my wife. After the flashes (one blowing out the background and one above the glasses) settings were dialed in she held on to the fishing line and sprayed one of those compressed air cans into the glass causing chaos to the drink.

I usually don't say "only" for a score like that, but ONLY a 6.49?! Wow, this is a tough crowd.

Patrick, this is a fantastic image. I love it. Thanks for the set-up details, the air can blowing into the middle glass is a very interesting detail. They are a pain to do, aren't they? But the result you got is well worth it.

Great job! You succeeded in getting "Irene'd" by a few of the commenters. Thanks for the setup details - makes me wanna break stuff and go make a mess! :)

Beautiful image, I love the movement and the stillness, great lighting...very IreneM! I am left pondering how you achieved the movement in the middle glass.

Looks like an IreneM job. I love the contrast between the red and the greys, the balancing act with the middle glass is really cool.

Very nicely done. I assume this is the old geletin trick for the splashing liquid effect and if so the splashing glass looks pretty realistic, it would have really been cool if there was a splash of liquid that went above the middle glass but the drops on the lower glass really help sell it. Great job
