Appears a bit washed out – likely because it wasn’t the best time of the day (lighting) for the shot.

The evening light enhances the field/ tail on the right hand horse..
Definely well balanced what's important IMO mind ya is a horses head..The saying "Eyes are the window to your soul" holds true for me anyways.. That being said this could be an even better shot..
It's still pretty darn good..

Tough backlighting. Appears as though the shadows were lost in the exposure and brought back. Really hurting the contrast in the photo.

Lovely picture but looks a bit oversharpened.

Nice idea, however the forground seems over exposed and would have liked to see more of the face of the horse on the right or better yet changed your point of view so only the horse on the left was in the scene.

Hello. I am making a point on commenting on the photos that I rated a 2 or 3 in this challenge.

I gave this image a 3 for the following:

I'm not sure if this was a shot taken from a long distance away and cropped in really, really tight, or if the camera optics just aren't very good, but whatever the case the image suffers from bad artifacting, and what looks like blur/camera shake. It also doesn't have a very exciting composition.

If this was taken from far away and then cropped a lot, might I suggest getting closer next time if possible, or finding subjects that you can get closer to. (If it's just bad optics, well, can't help there).

As for composition, try finding angles that flatter the subjects more. Something where their heads aren't hidden, or their expressions can come into play, or the body language can speak to the viewer. Take your time and wait for the subjects to be more active. Use props/food/etc. to get them to be more active (if allowable).

This meets the challenge, yes, but for me it just has too much wrong with it to compete.

This seems a bit over-sharpened an over-processed to me. The brights are so bright that they over-power the subject, in my opinion. Beautiful scene, though.

seems like you zoomed beyond what you should have here, its very pixally

lovely light - the image seems to be a bit blurry as if the camera moved during the exposure

pity the chestnut's head is hidden, but lovely shot nonetheless, 7

Slightly oof with what looks also to be camera shake. Probably could have bumped up the contrast and maybe upped the saturation a little too. Good luck, as I'm guessing the other voters will keep you down in the 4's.
