I must say that I did not pay much attention to this photo during the challenge, but now, when I look at it, I find all sorts of things that I like in it:
the low horizon line
the little white backlight behind the blackish outcrop
the barely there mountains
the beautiful clouds
the (at least to my eyes) slightly purplish tint

All in all, a beautiful shot, one that can grow on you.

I like the title.. and there is something really appealing about this shot. Perhaps its the interesting clouds or the uniform rock pier.. I'm not sure. But I like it. 8

Wonderful greyscale with nice tonal range. The clouds take your breath away. This should be in the hunt for a ribbon.

WOW!!! By far my favorite of this competetion. I love the vastness and depth this shot creates. The contrast and lighting are dead on. I love the mountains that are in the fog in the background. Very nicely composed and a BEAUTIFUL sky. Hope to see this one do well, good luck!!!

the only thing i don't like is the water line above the rock line. i think a slightly lower point of view would have been a bit better, but i wasn't there, you were :) 8

This is a original idea: making a silhouette from a part of ground .
Great composition, beautiful B/W .Amazing sky. Simple and aestetic.

In my opinion, the statue is too far off in the distance. A bit closer might improvethis image.

Beautifully detailed sky..just a pity your silhouetted subject wasn`t bigger as the sky tends to take the attention....great image though.
I will be interested to find out where this was taken as it is very like the skies that I`ve been photographing recently.
