 Black headed gull dives for a piece of food, whether thrown by someone or dropped by another bird I know not - just a bit of serendipity - and I didn't know it was there when I pressed the shutter button. Crop, resize, NeatImage to reduce noise, USM. That's it!
EF 75-300mm at 300mm, AI Focus.

Serendipity is a difficult concept to visualize. For me it means being at the right place, at the right time, and being lucky enough to capture something unique. Some of these entries are set up shots trying to illustrate that concept, and some record a serendipitous moment experienced by the photographer themselves. This is a particularly good example of the latter. It succeeds compositionally and this bird lends an appealing awkwardness.

Very nice image - colors work extremely well. If I could tell what the top white thingie was (and why) this would most likely been a 10. As is... I gave it an 8.
