Shot with an AB1600 with beauty dish as main. Rim to the left and behind...AB800. Also an AB1600 with blue gel for background.

Shouldn't even acknowledge the facists. Guy probably breast-fed with a blindfold on.

Care to share your lighting setup for this shot?

Thanks for everyone who brought controversy to my shot :) I love it, and it's very flattering. Besides, (not that I'm in anyway comparing) Terry Richardson tends to split people down the middle with his photographs. I'm happy to be a similar kind of rebel.

As far as the subject matter is concerned, I was going for a more out-of-the-box approach on the topic. Thank you greatly to those of you who got that. See, here's the thing: it's all about recycling and not wasting. She is wearing Saran Wrap. Saran Wrap is generally used to save things, so that it's not wasted. I opted for a humorous slant on the topic. I really hate that I have to explain that, but so it goes.

For those of you who down-voted simply on the aspect of "nudity," I'm sorry. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions as far as nudity is concerned. I, personally, am not one to force my judgment on someone else, and dismiss something solely because of that, but to each their own. Additionally...after careful observation of the photograph, I have found no (and by no, I mean zero) instances of nudity. Maybe my eyes are going bad at the old age of 23, or maybe my monitor just isn't calibrated correctly. In fact, I've seen more revealing dresses at the Oscars. I was unaware that a photo with with a bare stomach and cleavage showing warranted a zero. I'll have to go back and re-read the rules.

Regardless, I'm sure I'll stick around. And a quick congrats to my model Niki...who placed top 10 in the Hooters International Bikini Contest the other night. You can also catch her a few months back in "Girls of Hooters" feature in Playboy.

Cannot post on forums, but will fess up that I gave this a 1 -- primarily because the clear and unarguable DNMC of the subject matter. Secondly, it would have gotten a 1 anyway for the nudity involved. Completely unnecessary. Again, well processed and taken, but clothe your subject next time. You have talent, don't waste it.

You've got to be kidding me :/

Not at all. DNMC is ALWAYS a 1, as it should be.

So, Blue is the New Green is the Igniter of Controversy! LOL This is a great image, very well done (somebody suggests clothing???) and, as I said earlier, I was glad to get to see it. Given the constraints of the challenge, I suspect it neither deserves 1's nor 10's, but I gave it a solid 6, and would have easily gone higher if it had been in the Free Study. Had your "wrap up your leftovers" comment been the title, it might have been received as a more humorous out of the box approach to the challenge.

I, too, look forward to more images from you.

I wish I could see more of her eyes than the whites... It seems as if she's almost "rolling her eyes" at us.
If you take away expression, all she has going for her is big boobs. They're nice, but... *grin*

I would have scored this much higher with a better face shot... perhaps less "roll eyes" look about her, and looking into the camera and 'our eyes'.

I do like the composition and the lighting, though. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Great classic shot - creative and well-exposed. Even by DPC standards, it is puzzling to see the DNMC's on this.
07/07/2008 01:19:27 PM
46th place ... WTF?!?!?
07/07/2008 09:21:05 AM
this is truly stunning.

Very underrated.

An excellent image, and one I would like to see more of from you.

Don't let DPC get you down, keep going, don't give in, do your thing.

I can't wait to see your next image.

Awesome choice of model :)

a total and complete shoehorned entry--but I liked getting to see it. A title change to Recycled Saran Wrap might have worked :-)

Gorgeous model, great lighting.

Did I miss something on the news somewhere?
07/05/2008 09:46:17 AM
Great subject matter :-) Not sure if that's really recycling though? But well executed anyway.

Nice shot.

Is your point that saran wrap and aluminum foil can be clothing? I'm going to assume it is. With that assumption, your shot now fits the challenge :)

That being said...

Wow!!! Stunning model, well captured sensuality Actually, quite a fashion shot bordering on coutre.
07/02/2008 01:42:03 PM
Ok.. well if I looked like this, Saran Wrap is all I would EVER wear!! Nice take on the challenge. 8

great shot but DNMC...
06/30/2008 09:14:26 PM
That is an amazing picture and a Hot girl! But Its streach from the topic... ):
06/30/2008 08:31:51 PM
reusing plastic wrap? Nice!
06/30/2008 08:02:43 PM
I don't get it, a girl in saran wrap(IMO you shot this to get the sex vote). I like the shot. Good focus, color, composition and model.
06/30/2008 07:40:48 PM
I like it. However, it's not really what one expects for this challenge topic. Still, 8. (You'll feel the wrath of the prude crowd in the scores, I predict quite a few 1s. It's a pity...)
06/30/2008 07:05:20 PM
Re-using? Reducing? Recycling? Where?
I see a roll of cling-wrap coming off the roll, which is none of the above in my opinion. Cool shot and certainly unique.
06/30/2008 06:21:45 PM
Love the lighting & styling. Ten from me!
06/30/2008 05:04:47 PM
Some poeple, no matter what the challenge, always take a picture of a horse and i give them 4 or 5. Some people, no matter what the challenge, always find a way of taking a great shot of a beautiful woman and I give them 9. Go figure.
06/30/2008 04:43:00 PM
a very unusual take on the challenge - very well delivered and extremely dramatic (or it is the model). To be honest, when I looked at the thumb, I thought it was a shoehorn. Nice work overall...
06/30/2008 10:59:53 AM
Gary? stunning acidic colors, 9 good luck
06/30/2008 12:55:58 AM
I'm not sure how this relates to the topic? Is she wearing some kind of recycled material?
06/30/2008 12:50:06 AM
wow!!!! incredible photo! im not really sure its fitting the challenge though...maybe im missing something
06/30/2008 12:37:03 AM
Honestly if eco-propaganda was more of this and less of Al Gore, more people would start paying attention. Nice shot, great lighting. -1 for senselessly depriving me of some gratuitous booby enjoyment by going a bit nuts with the saran wrap. 9.
