I just noticed something:
This photo is titled 'Stronger than Steel'
The next photo up is titled what? 'STEEL'
Just found that pretty funny.

Gordon, I'm surprised this didn't get a ribbon, or even finish in the top five.

Its a great photo, good luck next time...

Simply love the delicacy of this photo! Seems to me that the spiderweb is tied in a knot in the middle?

Good detail on the top of the flower bud (?), but it may have shown strength better with the creater of the web in the scene; maybe, it would depend on what it was.

Your picture is lovely, such nice colors, composition and focus. Fits the challenge perfectly and the title is just right!

Why did the spider tie a knot in its line. Perhaps she forgot something. Good shot
and illustrative of a natural strength and delicacy that we can hardly match.
Very well taken.

blimey, splendid! are you the chap who in the forum asked about peoples initial reaction upon seeing the thumbnail to the impressed impression once the image is viewed as it should be? I thought this would be another dumb uninspiring flower shot - boy was i wrong! this is BRILLIANT. Okay, the flowers are taken especially well (gorgeous in fact) but the web - sheer genius. you ARE a bright spark. It's very rare when an image opens and i'm like "oh, wow, cooool". MUST be a ribbon contender, dang it to heck! 10. twice if i could.

very nice framing. I almost missed the spiderweb because I hadn't clicked on the thumbnail. Focus is excellent, and so is the composition. I vote 7.

Great image...really like the way you have used the light and DOF to great effect.

The only drawback I can see to this image..is if people vote by thumbnail..they may not see the relevance of it.
Hope this doesn`t happen....good luck

An extremely nice capture and placed well agaist what I assume is a created background. If that is the case you did a great job of selecting to isolate your subject, and a great job of color selection. I am distracted by the gray stripe to the left of the bud. My is pulling left. But, your framing is tall and skinny to begin with, so for tighter cropping you would have had to take some off the bottom as well, and lost some of your yellows in the bud. But, thant-s what I would have done. Great post. 8

Beautiful Shot! Great color. Looks like the web was moving...did you only use ambient light?

Absolute genius, I wish it was mine. The choice of theme, spiders web, the incredible knot, and the flash of colours make a pic I would like to see in the top three. Well done

Beautiful shot. I am not sure how well it will do in the voting because the poweer of the picture isn't evident in the thumbnail. But full size -- Wow! I might have prferred a bit more contrast. DOF with this subject is pretty difficult but the soft focus bugs me a little. But without it, the thread would be less impactful. Hope it does well. 7
