My other son, in his first DPC appearance. He's not as patient as his twin brother who shows up quite often in my portfoliio. This is natural light, close to dusk, with him in the basement. The basement was dark except for this single ray of sunshine shining right down the steps from an upstairs window.

Shot in RAW. Post-processing was hell -- a lot of trial and error with channel mixer and sharpening primarily. I settled with blue at zero, red at 2/3, and green at 1/3 (roughly) and a soft Sharpen.

It is very creepy how the right side of the photo darkens out his face.

I like the stark simplicity of this. I'm wondering whether B&W was the way to go as there's not much towards the white end of things (perhaps a contrast boost) but the great control of light and blank expression gives us quite an insight here. Well done.

Just a "boyish" boy but this shot really steals me. The lighting is great. I like the fact his face is only lit from one side. You have left room for the other side of his face even though you cannot see it. Just works so well.

This will be my third comparison to a "Lost" (tv series) character so far in this challenge. Young Ben. :) Nice job, but a little dark - not just the lighting but the expression as well. A little smile won't hurt. :)
