Wow, all the comments and almost 100% mentioned cropping out the top. I guess that thought will stick with you. They're both very cute.

Nice subject and expression, but I would of crop everything over her head.

Tighter crop would improve this IMHO because the background is too complex & too much pulling the eye away from the subjects. (When I "hand-crop" just above her head, this is a very nice portrait.) Hope that helps. :)

while I like the portrait itself, the composition is poor. They get lost in all the negative space at the top. A close view would have worked better

great photo but if it had been cropped just above the lady and dogs heads, I think it would have more impact without the unneccesary space above them

They look deathly cute together, but that background makes the image look like a snapshot. Cropping away the rail at the top would help a lot.

I think it would have improved it a lot to crop out the railing and make the rest of the picture larger.

exposure OK but too much background above head

Is this a portrait of a lady or a female dog? They are both nice, but there are two. I think there is a bit too much background. I keep wanting to look up to see what is up there.

The background is a bit distracting. I think cropping the top of the picture might have helped to bring more focus to the portrait.

wish this was cropped tighter on the top, at least below the railing

there's too much space at the top, it takes away the focus from her

Poorly composed... should have cropped tighter

I would've turned the woman sideways a bit for a slimming effect.. her shoulders combined with the longer focal length make her look big. I would've also come in a lot closer to her face to throw the background further out of focus.
