 This is one of my favorite animals! Do I say that tho about every single one?? I think so. These "Capybara's" and I'm not sure I spelled that right, but they are the world's largest rodents, but they have the sweetest little personalities. They really are like pets. In fact, one time when I was watching them, the zoo keeper went into their area and started calling them one-by-one by name. They each responded to their own name and came to her and she would tell them to sit up to get their hand full of lettuce, and they would dutifully sit up on their hind legs to get their treats. They're really pretty big. About the size of. . . ummmm a young bear maybe.

Sigh. I want one to take home :)

It's so weird - they are like giant rats, yet have such a soft sweetness about them. They seem so slow and deliberate. Nice one, Sandy!

i wonder if ppl are allowed to have them as pets ??
they sound just like dogs .. lol .. i think i'd like one too .. !!!
wot country do they come from sandy .. ??

oh by the way .. I LOVE THE PHOTOGRAPH ..!!! ..and i love your processing .. such a soft delicate touch .. love how you make your images so amazingly beautiful .. :)
its interesting .. but i'm recognising the highlights on his coat are from the water droplets and the flash combined .. that effect really works in this photograph .. :)

It is amazing how you get your water to look so soothing. I have been to the zoos and they don't look like that at my zoo. Nicely done. Just absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.

I've never heard of one of these, but am quite interested in seeing them in action. But unlike you, not in my home :)
