From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Edgar Allen Poe

What a poem, and the shot is fitting. The processing is fantastic here; I'd love to know how you did it. My only nitpick is the left side that's a bit darker, but maybe you wanted it that way.

He was tormented, wasn't he? Your photo is definitely evocative of that aloneness he expressed in this poem. Also has a strong sense of otherness. Very powerful.

Very interesting image. It is very ghostly and eery. The pp here really enhances the shot.

Quite eerie Alicia - like the pp - Agree with other comments re the light source being a little more accentuated

I agree with socalsteve that the light area could use some more definition. I like the over all effect.

Wow - a little more definition on the light area and you've got an entry for the paranormal challenge. I like the processing - makes everything look flat and almost hand-drawn.

WOW - a ghost on that bench. VERY cool. I really like the editing a lot. That hotel is so cool too. I was there about 30 years ago and I'm sure it still has the same appeal.
