Photo: An heavily overcast day made the original capture very flat. I was standing on my toes, holding the camera over my head to avoid traffic cutting into the stairs.

Photoshop:A slight crop to straighten up the lines, a curves contrast tweak, a 2nd curves move to darken the scene, a hue/sat tweak to desaturate the yellow in the concrete facade to make it colder. Oh, how hard it is not to use those layer masks...

very symmetrical and crisp. However the focus doesn't seem to be centered but off to either side. Nice non-the-less.
