We went for a walk today at a county park and towards the end Cartesia decided to play the drama queen. She went over in the field and decided to pout. I couldn't get the pics quick enough and this was the best.

Later in the evening I took some pictures that look fantastic, but my theme is natural light so I won't use them here. This was taken in bright sunlight and I spent the last 2+ hours trying to get this look the way my mind imagined it. The biggest issue is the high contrast/sharpness on the ground, no matter what I do it just doesn't look right.

That bright daylight is a killer, isn't it? Still, you managed to pull a good shot out of this. At first I thought she was modeling for you until I read your comments. You captured a moment you will both remember.

When the young ones play the drama card it is time to whip out the camera, isn't it? My son laid down in the middle of a hiking trail once because he couldn't manage another step (after refusing the wagon just 15 minutes before). What did we do ... whip out the camera. Now that he is 25 it is a great source of embarassment.

Awesome! What a mournful feel, spectacular!

How great is this? Even without Cartesia, this would have been a nice landscape, but she certainly adds an interesting human element to the photograph. I really like how the super wide angle lens seem to pull the clouds into the photo. Excellent job on the b&w processing.

This is really great! I know how hard it can be to fight the direct bright sunlight! I think you did well.

Ohmygosh. This is moody and beautiful. I love the negative space -- or scale or whatever it is that makes her look so tiny in that beautiful massive scene. It is the perfect "child" photo. I LOVE it!!

I like the image - but she looks despondant and I'm worried for her - SMILE!

I love how tiny she seems, but how immense her emotion is against the world. I think this is stunning and wonderful.

The grandeur and expansiveness of this are very good - I think you did an excellent job with bright sunlight, by the way. The shot as a whole works very well.

I think this is an awesome shot... I really like the composition, it looks like she is pouting because she is so far from home.

Very good. I agree that your subject tends to get lost in the vast and varied (almost busy) negative space. Maybe that's part of the message. Anyway, I think just a little better focus or sharpness on your subject could fix that. Also, I agree that more contrast overall might help. Wonderfully conceived and executed though.

There is so much emotion depicted in this. I agree that the contrast could be better - perhaps you could try using a blending layer??

You may not like how the contrast came out but you have an awesome memory for ever. Love how she is in the bottom left facing away for the inside of the photo. Hope that makes since. Anyway I like the composition and the negative space.

Wonderful balance of shapes, yet lots of negative space, which I love.

Poor Cartesia - looks like she's having a crook couple of days. Great wide angle for a very pretty scene.

It looks great to me, and quite dramatic.

Exquisite...love the "long way from home" feeling I get when I see her pout...the sadness it invokes is telling.

I like the effect of the clouds in this one, as they seem to be moving, drawing one right into the image.

Cartesia is just adorable, and I just love that pose.....
It also has a nice Minimalism feel to it.....

Beautiful shot. A wide angle works great for this. Wonderful conversion, too.
