An image... overlayed with a piece of film that I rubbed on my laundry floor to scratch up a little... some levels and here we are.

Inspired by Blue October...

She's My Ride Home
We talked
Together sharpening the knife
Like killing partners for a life
Hey we can hide the bodies on the ride home

Now here we are
We're licking skin to wipe us clean
Strike a match, pour gasoline
Ditch the scene and watch this city burn
Asleep, my life will be a pillow steering wheel turn

I'll be reaching for the stars with you (honey)
Who cares if no one else believes
So I, set fire to everyone around
But I told you
I told you
We'd do it

So ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha
Yeah we won

We Drive
To leave the past and clear the mind
to watch the sunset set its time
I swear you'll find
I'm your ride home

Now close your eyes
its' getting dark and the highways clear
No sign of life from front to rear
Its just you my dear
On the ride home
We're going home

I'll be reaching for the stars with you (honey)
Who cares if no one else believes
So I, set fire to everyone around
But I told you
I told you
We'd do it

So ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha
Yeah we won

We talked
Together sharpening a knife
Like killing partner for a life
Hey we can hide the bodies on the ride home
Cause we're going home

I'll be reaching for the stars with you (honey)
Who cares if no one else believes
So I, set fire to everyone around
But I told you
I told you
We'd do it

So ha ha ha ha (we won)
ha ha ha ha (oh yeah we won)
ha ha ha ha (we won)
ha ha ha ha
Yeah we won
Yeah we won

Intense!! Both the photo and the poem. I am reminded of Plato's cave analogy of the fire within the cave which casts shadows we understand to be truth, but the real light is outside the cave - the light of reason.

Disturbing in a wonderful way, these words! The image is a great fit, I love the focus on the held hands, cool crop, really gives the sense they are walking away and not concerned about looking back... Very Cool!!

I like this. I like that the area beyond is rural and rough and pretty in its own way but certainly not idyllic.

I love the silhouettes balanced by the fire. "I'll be reaching for the stars with you (honey) " - my favorite line of the song.

Love the tones in this image and the general grittiness of it, great shot.

Beautiful interpretation. I don't know this music, being so very OLD, but I think I get the drift. "Who cares if no one else believes" indeed.

Simply beautiful...urban and gritty, yet romantic and soft.

how incredibly different to your last image ..
and stunning it a totally different way ..
LOVE THOSE COLOURS .. and love the scene .. that fire & the silhouettes are brilliant .. everything about this is excellent .. great image ..
couple of minutes later ..
i've just read the lyrics & i dont fully understand them .. and on a superficial read i'm finding that it doesnt go with my impression of the image .. when i looked at the image i saw something lovely and positive .. and that's the way i think i'll keep it in my mind .. not two ppl who are dead set keen on slaughtering other ppl and hiding bodies .. and i'm wondering where exactly 'home' is .. death possibly .. :)
