Here is the one lovely spring item I was just getting ready to shoot when the rain started coming down yesterday...ggrrrrr! Well, got it today.

I was rather indecisive on the processing of this. Couldn't decide on whether or not I liked the partial desaturation of the background and if I wanted to leave it uncropped. It is quite obvious that I left the background partially desaturated and I did not crop this image.

You've captured the essence of spring here. Nice job getting the colors to pop and the selective desat works well.

Very nice - the desat works well - is it a hosta ?

I think you made good choices! The desat really helps set off the new growth green, and any tighter crop would feel crowded. Very nicely done, Amanda. Glad you were able to go back for the shot.

I like the background desaturated - works fine for me. Puts nice emphasis on the plant emerging. Excellent light and focus - very nice shot!

I like the partial desat, it adds to the bright new colour of spring that popped up!

I'm trying to figure out what plant that is. Not a tulip or crocus. Nice use of compelementary colors. Funny how green and red are so perfect together.

I think the processing is great... the desaturation in the background really makes the sprout "pop". Very well done!

Well made specimen view - centered, I think best choice pleasing full-frame ratio, though square may work with this subject, w/plenty environ, appropriate faded desat back provides emphasis to emergent bud and leaf.
