 This is me! Just playing around with my new D80, which now allows me to use my SB800 off camera. Lighting is an area where I could really use some work and I hope this challenge will spur me into action.

I love the use of lightening and the shadows it creates. I really feel like you are going to reach out through the screen and shake my hand.

I also like the lighting on the face, but what really makes it for me is the slight motion of the hand in the foreground. I can really feel this motion as you are reaching out to me through the camera.

excellent shot .. love your process too ..
this is one of those images where ppl see different things ..
i cant help thinking of a shady character trying to tempt me with their latest stash of drugs .. dont take offense .. its the light, the process and the 'interesting' expression you have ... :)

edit after another look .. the wall contributes to that overall feel .. like in a back alley .. BRILLIANT .. even if you didnt intend it ..!!..:)

Hi Fiona - welcome to our nightmare!!! Lighting stuffs me up too - even getting the sun in the right place seems to be a problem at times. Looking forward to a wonderful array of well lit images.

Hi,Fiona. Glad you've decided to join us. Your work is always fun and creative. Between your lighting and the motion your hand seems almost detached, here - almost like it belongs to someone else. Don't know if that was your intention, but cool effect. I want some lights to play with, too.

hi ya! i love the blur in your hand, as though you just released something into the air around us; that water stain on the bg adds to this for me, as though it is cascading over the fingers there

your expression is great! your eyes especially~makes me wonder what you've been up to! :)

I see such an interesting mix of expression. A welcoming outreached hand, yet an expression that makes me feel the person has some hesitancy or uneasiness. Very good work. The lighting I too am not good at so cannot be of much help there.
